The benefits of centralised 'gateway' solutions are delivered by the logging of user connections, thus providing a central audit trail, the provision of a single menu of all multivendor devices to which authenticated users have authorisation to access and the integration of in-band and out-of-band tools ensures users can gain remote access, irrespective of network availability.
